Check Any Car Deal Before You Buy

Found a car you love?

Let's see if the price
is fair.

We're on your side — help you buy the right car at the right price.

How CarPlug works

  1. Paste the listing.

  2. We'll check pricing, market trends, and buying opportunities.

  3. If we think you can do better, we'd like to see if we can beat the deal. If you've already found a great one, we'll tell you.

Why CarPlug?

We're on your side — helping you buy the right car at the right price, without the guessing game.

  • Honest advice, not another sale.

If we think you can do better, we'll offer to help. If you've already found a great deal, we'll tell you that too.

  • We work for you.

When there's room, we'd like to see if we can beat the deal — dealer network, incentives, financing when it helps. And we'll say so if the deal is already good.

  • Financing for every credit journey.

Good credit, rebuilding, or buying your first vehicle — we'll explore options with our dealer network. No perfect credit required. No guarantees we can't keep.

Before you buy a car, check with CarPlug. Start with the deal checker, explore financing options, or read our car buying guide.

Questions before you buy

Straight answers — then paste a listing if you want CarPlug's take.

Am I overpaying for this car?

Paste the listing (or the year, make, model, and asking price) and CarPlug will compare it to what similar vehicles are selling for today. You'll get a plain-language take — not a spreadsheet — so you can decide whether to keep looking.

How do I negotiate a used car price?

Start with the market, not the sticker. If CarPlug shows the ask is above similar vehicles, you have a concrete number to negotiate from — or a reason to walk. If we think you can do better, we'll do the work with dealer partners when you're ready. If you've already found a great deal, we'll tell you that too.

Can I check a deal with just a VIN?

Yes. Paste a VIN and we'll decode the vehicle, then ask for the asking price and mileage if we still need them. A listing link works too — Marketplace, CarGurus, AutoTrader, or a dealer site.

Does this work for Facebook Marketplace listings?

Yes. Paste the Marketplace link (or type the year, make, model, and price). Private-party listings are where it's easy to guess wrong — a quick second opinion before you message the seller helps you decide with more confidence.

What about CarGurus, AutoTrader, or dealer websites?

Those work too. Paste any listing URL you found online. CarPlug's job is the same either way: help you understand the deal before you buy.

How accurate is CarPlug's market comparison?

We use market comps, mileage, and available vehicle data to estimate where the ask sits today. It's a strong second opinion — not a certified appraisal. Always confirm with an inspection and the seller before you buy.

Can CarPlug help with manufacturer incentives?

When we try to beat a deal, we look for incentives and partner inventory that might improve your outcome. We won't invent savings — if you already have the best deal, we'll say so.

Do I need perfect credit to get financing help?

Good credit, bad credit, or somewhere in between—we'll help you explore your options. One application. Multiple dealers. More opportunities to find the right financing. We never guarantee approvals — lenders make that decision — but every credit story deserves a fair chance to explore options.

Is CarPlug free to use?

Checking a deal on the homepage is free. No signup required to get our take. If you want us to search inventory or negotiate on your behalf, we'll ask when you're ready — never before we've helped.

What if CarPlug thinks I already have a good deal?

We'll tell you honestly. Sometimes the best deal is the one you've already found. Our job is to help you make a confident decision — not to push you into another sale.

Do I need an account to check a listing?

No. Paste a listing and get CarPlug's opinion first. Accounts and applications come later, only if you want help finding or financing a better option.
